Huh.

I think I may have just gotten accepted to grad school in the UK.

Of course, the places in my home country who would have paid me for helping out in theater are like, well, gee whiz, the competition was really fierce this year... but the super exclusive university in England that is prohibitively expensive is like, hey, come on over.

I'm sure I'll get to happy and proud eventually -- although, like I said, kind of cost-prohibitive, so it's not like I can really go -- but right now I'm just sort of crinkling my forehead like, huh? I think the universe may possibly be laughing at me.

The thing about universities that are prohibitively expensive is that they need to admit a lot more people than will actually be coming, so as to have enough people capable and willing to pay the price. (I think this might also add points to their exclusivity score, but I don't know.)

I'd say it's a good thing you only have one of the webcomics I sent you in your list on the right. The things can easily multiply. On that note:
Mindmistress is currently in the throes of some nutty pan-webcomicdom storyline, but the archives are dependable. She's a superhero of sorts, whose only power is being really, really smart.

Ah ha, see that would make sense. Except how does it make them more exclusive if they admit more people and then the people don't come? Seems like it would make them LESS... Okay, never mind, doesn't matter. I like your theory.

Isn't exclusivity something like (applicants/attendees)? I suppose that the number of applicants is affected by the conflicting forces of the relative ease of being accepted and the inability to pay tuition if one did get in.

Oh, see, I thought it was applicants/accepted... because otherwise the popular backup schools would have pretty high exclusivity ratings, wouldn't they?

Okay, I really have no idea. I think I may have known, back when I was applying to college in the first place, but this is the only grad school program I applied to, and they seem to do it differently in England anyway, so I really haven't a clue. I need to email them about financial aid options, that's all I know. Heh.

Mindmistress ROCKS, by the way. I'm also thinking I'm going to add the link to Dominic Deegan. I like the artwork better in Magellan -- Dominic is to much like anime -- but I'm starting not to care, because he's a crackup.
